Legendary designer Yves Saint Laurent died yesterday at the age of 71 in his Paris home. tHIS is kinda a coincidence cos my friend and i where looking for his lastest collection of perfumes. *sighs*

He was noted as the most influential and enduring designer of his time. May his soul rest in peace.

FEE for all: For those who fly locally in america, some airlines particularly American Airline has made a decision to slap a fee on the first checked bag, i am guessing this is due to the increase in oil prices from $3-4$ plus..this is crazyyy. so if am flying from newyork to dc, theres going to be a charge?? GOSH America!!!

Anyways, there is a litle piece written by my sister, Kunmi on the killings of immigrants in sOUTH Africa,an interesting one i must say. A MUST READ!!!!

Since May 11, several of the unemployed and understandably angry indigenes of this great country have decided that the often poor, mostly hard-working, and perhaps equally frustrated people who settle in South Africa from neighbouring Zimbabwe, Malawi, and even Nigeria out west, are responsible for the dearth of jobs and height of poverty in the townships.

In February of this year, I visited South Africa for a week. Yes, I was in Cape Town, which is an idyllic reverie compared with the harsh reality of the hard-knock township-life in Alexandria, Johannesburg, and some other areas where violence against immigrants is currently being unleashed. Perhaps that is why, when asked what I really observed about the South African people, my comments were along the lines of "the people I met seemed so content and forgiving, seemed to have moved on after apartheid and to be happily getting along." Forgiving. Moved on. Happily. Getting along. So between February and May, what happened? Or perhaps this is an issue of space, not time. In which case I would ask instead, between Cape Town and Johannesburg, what happened?

Immigration is not an easy issue, and I am faced with that reality everyday. In the States, people who look Latino are condemned as "illegal" immigrants, even if they do happen to have their papers intact. "They are stealing our jobs," Americans cry, though in my six years in the States, I am yet to find an American who would trade his or her job for the endless meniality of cleaning in restaurant kitchens or constructing fancy homes and hotels, which is the reality of what forms the bulk of jobs you can get illegally or without the language requirement, in this country.

Immigration in Nigeria? Well, I have been scared. There is talk of building a metrorail system in Lagos, and industries have been springing up here and there. But the other day, I found myself asking my father what he thought about the influx of immigrants, or, as immigrants to developing nations from developed nations tend to be called, expatriates. Why did I ask him this? Because industrialization is tricky. You think you are getting good roads and bigger oil rigs and steady electricity supply and look, finally, an oil refinery that works! Even cell phones for everyone! You are so excited by this set of changes that you may neglect the other ones: that is, people are coming into the country at a high rate, to make all these changes happen. And those people, guess what, can do the math of the quality of life they get as expatriates in this country and what it was when they were regular Joes back home. And bar the mosquitoes, they even kinda like it here. Heck, they'll enroll the kids in the Italian School down the street, and help the wife find a new job at the bank whose manager they know. Soon enough, the wife and kids won't be able to tell the difference between here and home, yes, bar those damned mosquitoes.

That is how immigration happens: a direct result of the search for the better life. For better education, a society with better culture, a better job, a better real estate market for houses by the beach, or for diamond mines, a better retirement atmosphere, a better-sounding language, a better future for the kids. The search for better. That is why, as we speak, thousands of visa interviews are being conducted on people who are already packed up and ready to leave home behind forever, hundreds of children are being born who would never speak their parents' mother-tongue, and tens of people are being killed for no fault other than existing as non-indigenes in rural South Africa.

Is immigration bad? This question directly affects me. However, after pondering the question for a few days, aided by a back-issue of The Economist with a focus on immigration, I decided that the answer was, and is, no. Immigration is good for the economy because immigrants into richer countries, though tax- or tuition- paying, hardly utilize the facilities and health and social services at the rate that citizens do. And this is true - I remember being shocked to find that people had steady doctors in the States, and went to see them even when they were healthy. If 100% of the inhabitants of a place were citizens cognizant of the culture of steady use of these services and resources, needed or not, imagine the strain there would be on those services. Immigrants also make the richer country a more competitive market, because they have the net effect of driving down the costs of goods and services, some of which are traded on the global front. As a local example, living in the uber-expensive capital city of Norway one summer, I found that the least expensive place to buy food was in the immigrant neighbourhood of Grønland. On the global front, you want to be a competitive nation because if your resources are being traded at too-high costs, countries that need them will get them elsewhere. And we are not talking unit quantities here.

Immigration is good for the immigrants, and for the citizens of the country the immigrants are now inhabiting. It gives the immigrants the better life they wanted. "Immigrants" as used in the twenty-first century, seems to have a negative connotation - not as bad as "illegal immigrants," I admit - but it can't help things that the word rhymes with other negative words like "truants" and "delinquents." I myself am beginning to favour the term "expatriates." Or "non-permanent residents", but that is quite a mouthful, and it does not cover categories such as "green-card holders" or "newly-permanent residents." But I digress. If you want a better life on this earth that we live in, and you go about it by means as honest and peaceful as you can afford, then I don't see why it should be denied you. I think the issue of illegal immigration is tricky, so I will not get into it here.

Immigration also makes more "cultured" people of the nationals of a country experiencing the influx. I know that the most engaging conversations I have had have been, not necessarily with people who hold advanced degrees, or who have so much wealth that there exists a Swiss bank named in their honour, or who have so much humility that they make the cleaner of the King's bathrooms seem like a demigod, but with people who have cultivated their knowledge of and respect for the world's peoples, either by travelling widely, or by accepting people from other countries into their lives and homes. Practically, it also feels better to say when you have guests at your house, "so shall you have naan with that hummus, or do you prefer challah?" or, "I personally prefer the moscato grapes to the zinfadel from California, but that is just my opinion." Ok, maybe a bit "snob", but hey.

I dream of a world where we would no longer be able to tell the difference between the Ethiopian and the Norwegian. Where everyone will be mixed so that a sort-by-colour for anything besides stockings would be futile. A world where you think you have pigeon-holed that man into the "Sicilian" category, and mentally judged him as such, until he opens his mouth and you find that his accent is Egyptian, and that he speaks Japanese fluently and named his three children after the Yoruba gods of thunder, fire, and water*. Because in such a world, who is to say, "You are from Malawi, you are not one of us, therefore I shall stone you to death"? Or "I do not like your people, they persecute us in the name of religion, therefore I do not want you living in my country"? Who is to say that?

As I go to sleep tonight, I shall be saying a prayer for the people of South Africa. I will pray that their government and the world would help them fight the unemployment and poverty that seem to be the roots of this intolerance. Not a slap-a-Band-Aid-on-it, send them some quick aid or appeasement solution that seems to be favoured by governments these days. But a lasting solution that would encourage South Africans, and all of us all over the world, to embrace immigration, while intelligently shaping our minds and economies to adapt to it. Because immigration, it seems, is here it stay.

Hey y'all, its fridayyyyyy!!!!!tHIS IS going to be a long read so be prepared.

Going to start off with my regular family friday...my mum is feeling much better(thank God), spoke to her and my dad. I have been talking to my dad like everyday..lol atimes he is in a really good mood while other times is the other case...really dont blame him tho, we can be a lot of baggage atimes. Cant wait for them to reap their fruits.

My big sister's are cool. One emails me like everyday. I wish i could visit her unfortunately am stuck doing summer school.I actually chilled with the other one, we got to paint each others nails and i got to eat good food...lol

I misssss my brother, hope he schools in yankee, spain or england. My parents are quite hestitant to allow him school abroad because honestly speaking, its quite expensive plus he is the ONLY BOY :). They have also threatened that without a scholarship he mite have to attend Covenant UNiversity..lol wat the hell, pls ill rather him go to Unilag or Ibadan, not prison yard covenant. I mean i kinda understand where they are coming from. I need to start working ASAP plus earn really good money to avoid all this. I wish him the best in his examsss,he is writing WAEC and GCSE. i hope he comes out with flying colorssss..lol Cant wait to see him so we can talk abt stuff.

Miss my extended family too. I think myself and my twin sister are really spoilt or maybe not, i guess pple just love twinsss. I also guess twins are blessings. Miss my all my uncles: kehinde and taiwo(twins as well), tunde sanni, akin, Baba dee, banji, the list is endless... and my GRANDMOTHERRR..gosh may God bless her.

DARK THRUSDAY IN NIGERIA & others !!!
I was reading on the explosion that happened in Lagos :(...pupils of Ijegun Comprehensive High School and Ijegun Nursery and Primary School as well as the residents of that area suffered greatly from this horrid incidence.
Other fatal incidences include the earthquake in china and the disaster in Myammar. What is going on in the world today?? Where is God????? I know in every situation there is a blessing, but situations like this makes me cringe and ask questions.

May God help us!!!I just really hate bad news...

My comment!!! well i kinda expected him to choose her though, because she seemed quite lively and exciting. However, my optimism on their union..their so called "love" is as good as dead. This is because i have seen countless number of dating reality shows in which a guy meets a girl and feels he/she is in love having spent approximately 4months on National TV.Being an avid watcher, 99.9% of this pseudo couple/love come to a disaster especially once it has been aired. Why you may ask?? fame! they're on NATIONAL TV!! spending just 4months on NATIONAL TV! pressure in wanting to like someone you may probably not have been attracted to in the first place and lastly they are on NATIONAL TV!!!!

FAMILY FRIDAY!!!!

sO one of my fellow bloggers decided i changed the name from family monday to family friday..totally dig the idea, thanksss.

The month of May is a very unique and blessed month i must say. May 1st was my sister's birthday, called her up verry early in the morning. She was excited to speak to me however she was running late for a cruise. So our conversation was cut short. Love talking to my sister because she is very intellectual, she listens to me and she also helps convince our parents to do things for me...lol.

My dad's birthday is actually today, he is 53yrs old...i pray that God will grant him long life, i dont know what i will do without him. He is like the backbone in the family(of course). But i love and respect this man to bittttsss. There was a point in my life that i was scarred of my dad..lol bcos he is a man that does not speak much but when he does woohoo, someone wont have a pleasant day!
wELL i got to speak to him today, we(myself and my twin sister) where actually the first to call him. He sounded so excited and happy, and you know wat dat means...monayyy..lol.
My friends, mau, mgbeks, newyork, laval spoke to him, and they where just acting a fool, calling him uncle, "yes boss"...lol i was "like what the hell". I was glad when he said "we" kicked off his day for him. Unfortunately, my mum is sick, down with fever.Spoke to her but she dint really sound as exciting as my dad. I told her she better get well to take her hubby out, but she still sounded down. Normally my mum would be shouting "Ti ti" or "my taiye" but she wasnt doint all that..i hope she gets well, pls pray for her...

Besides my mum being sick, She is the coolest, prettiest,sexiest shapiest mum i know out there. I guess thats where i get it from...hehehe My mum is a woman i can do anything for. Without my dad in our lives we wud have probably been spoiled, we thank God for the balance. God knows that when i make it in life she will never lack. I never really enjoyed being around my mum when i was little because i always recieved knocks on my head, always screaming and telling me to fix this and that. I guess i've grown and she also has. She listens to us most of the times

I havent spoken to my other sis,kum in like 2weeks...kinda bad. But i will definately speak to her. I love her because she's unique, hardworking and interesting, luv her so much.

Miss my brother CAPOOOOO so much, its unbelivable. Myself, ken, and him are the closest in the house, We have similar things in common, like partying, girls, boiz, clothes,dating and just general stuff. We are the closest in the house even tho the age difference is 6yrs... we undertand each other, and thats why i miss him and love him soo much. I can do anything for my brother. i can starve or even die for my brother. I GAT HIM FOR LIFE...LOL

If anyone has been to New york, one would know its a hustling city, plus everything
and anything can be found in new york. Also in New york one does not have to go
clubbing to have fun, there are so many activities that clubbing wouldn't come to mind...name it, is it comedy shows, fashion shows, hookah bars, regular bars, karaoke
bars, madame Tussuad's,ESPN zone, paint-balling, tattoo parlors(hehe),
restaurants/cuisines not to forget shoppingggggggg but bear in mind that one has to have the money to have so much fun....

Anyways, One night i decided to go on a fun, fun spree.. I went to a

The next day, I went with my friends to a karokee bar, ESPN zone, and a comedy show in which we where dissed, WARNING! NEVER EVER sit in front during a comedy show...lol like u would literally be insulted by the comedian and there is nothing you can do, if you react you will be kicked out of the show.

More on fasination... can someone tell me why people match clothes to the "nipple" for instance...when they wear pink earrings, it must match with pink bangles, pink bra, pink bag, pin belt, pink shoes, not a fan at all, i think its looks too cordinated atimes ghetto, throw in sum colours. I have a couple of friends who used to do, sum of them have outgrown it, sum still wear them..lol

Yeah talking about cities, i happened to stay in california for a bit cos my sister used to live there. California is pretty much the same thing in terms of having so much activities to do...basically never a dulling moment. Stayed with my sister in california for two decembers, she lived in Pasadena..it was so lovely and beautiful. I volunteered and attended the rose bowl parade which was a 5-15mins walk from my sisters apartment, JLO's restaurant was also 5-15mins walk but i dint go in, just breezed through!!!
I actually had soo much fun when i was with my sister. My sister had this theory that you are not legally an "otits" until you get initiated by attending a gay, transsexual and stripper bars. I felt awkward because i had never partied with my sister and anyone who knows my sister can testify that she is so into her books(which is a good thing)and a serious kinda person. This time i got to see the other side of her...lol
When i saw her getting jigging-with-it, i was surprised and happy at the same time cos i knew i could get loose....lol

Has anyone heard about the Sean Bell case, this happened in 2006 where three police officers, (2blacks and one white)shot him during his Bachelors eve. He was shot 50times in which 31 of the bullets was shot by the white Police, Micheal Oliver. This case is so similar to Diallo who was shot 41times. Remember the song "DIALLO DIALLO" by Wyclef.
Now its been two yrs since the sean bell incident occurred. I so happened to be in Newyork city when the verdict was announced, the court found three of the police officers not guilty. Even tho there was a peaceful riot the whole of NY ran mad literally. Being in NY felt like being in Naija and experiencing those riots. The whole of newyork last week was spotted with NYPD/police in every corner and station just in case of any outbreak.
To make matters worse when the officers where interviewed all they could do was to thank God, their family and supporters. None of them bothered to apologize to the parents of the victim apart from one officer. LIFE IS A BITCH!!! thats all i can say.

Well unto some good news...while i was walking on the streets of Soho in newyork i met TOBY MAGUIRE from superman going into his apartment, i almost went with him in his apartment..lol unfortunately for me i dint have a camera, i have never been star-struck in my life, like 5minutes after i saw megan good...places i can absolutely live in, Newyork and california, i totally love california especially.
And yeah if anyone happens to know about Scofield aka wentworth miller, aka wenty...lol pls dont hesistate to get his addy, picture, or even number sef...lol

Well i was reading Londonbuki's blog and saw the dedication she had for her mum before she passed away, her blog is called Mummy monday. very inspirational, i think ill start doing that, but for my family instead, every monday ill write sumthing special about my family, to appreciate them and life in general.

I was also reading soupasexys blog on her post Sasha... and when she wrote truthfully i have felt like killing myself most times but at the back of your head you know that hell is waiting on you....i was like gosh that is soo me, like there are so many ways i have thot of dying, overdose, jumping down highrise building, just doing sumthing crazy but im like im going to end up in hell.

Truthfully i have been wanting a tattoo, but my uncle, sister and preachers have preached to me that is ungodly, i wish i dint know of this until after i got the tattoo, now i permanently have a guilty conscience each time i decide to go to a tattoo palor

Onto some more designers, Catharine Marion,aka Abby Omoruyi; i think she takes time to design her clothes, very creative and couture i must say. i think she is becoming one of my favorite designers and i cannot believe she met CHRISTIAN from project runway...lol he's FIERCEEEEEEEEE!!!

I was going through the posts from the yahoo group i belong to....... nbforum@yahoogroups.com and i can tell you that i was not happy with what i was reading! How many of you fly British airways? and how many of you have experienced any gruesome form of treatment from them??

I have experienced some sort of demeaning behavior from them. I flew British Airways for the first time in 2005/06 which is not my norm because i usually fly my Lufthansa.... anyways, i had just left Nigeria and i was coming back to the states with my twin sister and 2 of my friends from my school.One of my friends was delayed a bit at the check point area because she was carrying a big bottle of medicinal drink which she had to transfer to a smaller bottle. Doing that took quite some time so we were actually there until my fellow Nigerian passengers left the check point area. Once my friend had finished, we realized that the security agents brought out some scented sprays and sprayed the whole area with it. I was very confused for a second.... i asked myself what it meant but i just didnt want to believe that they thought we all stunk???? in my mind i thought that was not called for, because with other airlines people just don't do that. That was my first time experiencing such.

I am sure most of you know the deal with Naomi Campbell(model), her luggage and British Airways?? How many of you have thought that maybe it was not really her fault that she went "kuku" on them for loosing her luggage....

Anyways, this story i am about to share with you will just get you very annoyed.and after reading this i will advice my fellow Nigerians or Africans that fly BA to boycott them at all cost.

I have copied and pasted exactly how it was sent to me and i will please like you to express your concerns, views and opinions. Here is the story!

"On the 27th of March 2008 at about 12:30pm, I boarded the British Airways flight BA75 and I went straight to seat 53C.

On getting to my seat, there were noises from an individual being forcibly restrained but who was not visible because some police officers and some plain clothes people held him down. The noise continued for more than 20 minutes and I was concerned because the individual was screaming in agony and shouting in pidgin English “I go die” meaning, I will die. I pleaded with the officers not to kill him and my exact words were “please don’t kill him”. The British Airways staff said that the officers were doing their jobs and that nothing was going to happen. The noise became louder and other passengers started getting concerned and were complaining especially about their safety.

Eventually, a member of the cabin crew announced that the passenger was going to be removed and the passenger was removed from the plane and we all thought that was the end of the situation. Five minutes later, two members of the cabin crew arrived with about 4 police officers and told me to get off the plane. I asked what the matter was and they said that I was not going to travel with the airline because the cabin crew thought I had been disruptive by questioning the noise being caused by the person that was removed. I pleaded with them that I was going for my brother’s wedding and that I had all his stuff with me. I was dragged out of the plane as if I was resisting arrest. As we got to the corridor that linked the plane with the terminal building, I was slammed against the wall and made to sit on the floor. I was still pleading with them telling them that they had completely misunderstood me and that I was only complaining about the situation regarding the disturbances caused by the deportee they were trying to restrain and subdue. I was on the floor for about 20 to 25 minutes. Another passenger was brought to the corridor as well and he was also pleading with the officers.

I was later put in the back of the police van at about 1:50pm and I was locked up there for about an hour or more still handcuffed. I was formally arrested approximately 2:30pm and my rights were read to me. Before the arrest in the van, I managed to reach for my pocket and brought out my mobile phone. I made some phone calls to my wife, sister and a friend while the low battery sign was on because I was all alone and still handcuffed.

I was later driven to the police station where I was formally checked in. I was in police custody for almost 8 hours and later released on bail after the interview with the duty solicitor and the detectives. I had £473.00 on me which was seized as well as £90.00 sent to my mother in-law from my sister in-law and £1,050.00 given to me by my cousin who is a doctor for the upkeep of his parents in Nigeria . All the money together was £1,613.00. I was told that I would appear in a magistrate court to prove the money was not meant for crime or proceeds of crime. The officer told me that they will like to see traceability and that I needed my payslips and bank account detailing my payments and withdrawals as well as my cousin’s payments and withdrawals.

I was released but without the money. I made my way to terminal 4 and arrived there at about 12:30am but the British Airways kiosks were closed. I was directed to the staff room and told them that I wanted to rebook my trip to Lagos . A lady told me to give her my ticket and she stated that British Airways has banned me from travelling with them indefinitely and that only the managers can use their discretions because I was a ‘disruptive passenger’. I requested for my 2 piece luggage and she told me that the section will be opened later at about 5:30am and I will be escorted in to collect them. I slept on the chair and waited till about 5:30am and attempted to rebook my ticket but was told that British Airways refused to take me. I decided to go and pick up my stuff and I was told that my luggage were missing. I was handed a form with reference number LONBA90924. At this point, I became totally stranded because I could not leave without my luggage because it contained my brother’s wedding suit, shirts and accessories.

I was on the phone with my wife and she wanted to book an alternative flight that departs at 10:15am so that I could make it for the wedding. This was not possible because British Airways refused to disclose where my luggages were and did not remove my luggage from the flight when they called the police to arrest me.

On Monday 31st of March, I appeared at the Magistrate court but was told that a decision was made about the £1,613.00 that was seized from me. The police had been granted a further 90 days to hold on to the money pending their investigation. I was given the officer’s details as DC Webster 0208 721 9141. He requested 12 months bank statements and 6 months payslip to prove that the £473.00 that belongs to me was not proceeds of crime and also requested that the £1,050.00 that was given to me by my cousin for his parents should also be traced to my cousin’s 12 months bank statement and 6 months payslip. DC Webster has promised to write me detailing these requests.

Still on Monday 31st of March 4 days after I was taken off the plane, I made extra efforts to find out the whereabouts of my 2 piece luggage (LONBA90924) , because they have not been sent to my address as promised by calling the lost baggage section at 13:44hrs and spoke to a man called Neil who said that, it is difficult for them to trace my bags and that there is a strong possibility that they might be in Lagos. He suggested that I should call back in 24 hours.

My bags were returned on Friday 4th of April. One week and one day after the incident. One of the bags was destroyed and the other was intact. I have written to British Airways to complain and ask fro my refund but I have not received anything from them yet.

I will not want to believe that the authorities involved in the situation deliberately or cleverly punished me unnecessarily out of frustration for not being able to restrain or subdue a deportee or that I as a fee paying passenger was accused of affray with violence when I was voicing my concerns about the disturbances caused by the deportees. I never mentioned any abusive or swear words neither was I physically threatening anyone. My luggage mysteriously was lost and I have been banned on all British Airways flights without a chance to say my part of the story to redeem myself. 200 passengers were asked to leave the flight because they expressed displeasure regarding the disturbances caused by the deportees and the officers trying to restrain him. My ticket was even refused to be endorsed by BA to enable me to fly with another airline. I need full compensation of my loss and also a letter of apology from British Airways".

Realities!! Realities!! Realities, how i love reality shows, i should start up my own reality show you Know..lol..... Anyways, VH1's Rock Of Love 2 with Brett Michaels is finally over.This reality show was about a rock legend Bret Michaels of the famous rock band POISON, trying to find love amidst several girls. He finally "found it" with some chic called Amber. I think Amber was the right choice for him,although she was not a rock chic, i think she was a lot more mature and level-headed for him. Of course i cannot talk about reality and not mention FLAVOR OF LOVE or I LOVE NEW YORK, so far so gud, this seasons flavor of Love has been dry but the ironic thing is that i still keep tunning to it......lol
and as for Newyork she is starting a new show called NEWYORK GOES TO HOLLYWOOD...wow, more grease to her elbows, shes a superstar now....

Talking about superstars, the radio host of the US radio station 99.5fm said Ushers wife basically chose the girls and the outfit for the main girl in his new video "love in this club"......mehn she must really be vicious with her man and insecure, plus i heard on that same radio show that she was asking for nothing less than 2million for the first pictures of her soon to be born child..... can u just imagine that....who does she think she is?? she aint no celebrity... shes not like TOMKAT(tom Cruise and Katie Holmes), BRANGELINA(brad pit and Angelina Jolie)who were given huge sums of money for the first pix of their child.......mehn... who the "f"uge does she think she is..lol... i am already not liking her at all. Shes married to Usher thats all. I really hope he signed a prenuptial..i really feel he should have just married Chilli. Now he is totally trapped...lol..eyahh for him

His Holiness, Pope BenedictXVI visited the US yesterday, April 15th, 2008. This is his first visit to the United States since he was made Pope. He was met by President Bush, his wife and daughter. His holiness will discuss several political and religious issues which will include topics like the war in Iraq and the sex scandal within the catholic church.

I was very opportuned to have been in the same state(Washington DC) in which his holiness was in. A ceremony and mini parade were conducted for him.The Ceremony was held in the white house and had well over 700 invited guests. The parade was for all, but i could not make it tho(laziness is very bad). This parade was held around the white house as well The Catholic University of America....

I decided to watch it on tv anywayz. Being catholic, i was very excited as i feel the Pope is the representation of christ here on earth. As he wove his hands gracefully while being driven past the crowd, you could not but help listen to the clamors of the crowd. Individuals were crying, yelling his name at the top of their voices and also taking pictures.

I had never seen security as tight as that before. In the midst were the secret service agents down to the very normal police.Even the Pope's Mercedes car was very secured. It was bullet proof to prevent haters/assassins/snipers from trying to gun him down.

Am sure most of you are knowledgeable of the 2assasination attempts of Pope John Paul II in the 80's where he survived a bullet shot and missed a bayonnet stab from a sociopath.

Hope his holiness visit, Pope BenedictXVI will turn out to be a fruitful and safe one. May God continue to bless him

Am very sure most of you remember who Patrick Swazye is......hes the sexy looking dancer, actor from the movie Dirty Dancing?????? He was unfortunately diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. This is very sad to hear, however am glad to say that he is responding well to treatment.

Pancreatic cancer is one of the deadliest cancers amongst every other cancer. This is because the symptoms do not come early enough which ends up leading to an advanced disease at the time of the diagnosis. Its been discovered that 5% of the people with that disease have up to 5years survival rate.....and this 5% includes those who have been diagnosed early enough. In other words what i am trying to say is that since my dearest Patrick was diagnosed quite late, he has a little less than 5years to live. This is very shocking and when i heard this news i was just filled with grief. There were even rumors saying that he just had 2more weeks to leave. Can you just imagine that.

Hence, i am dedicating this write up to him. He really needs your prayers and support. Below is a mailing address where you can send a card, postcard or a little note to show him all the love and support. Be you in NIgeria, England, Eygpt;) you can show the man some love.

The Howard University fashion was one word....FABUlouS. I think they maintained the regular standard if not better. There's a peak of the show above if you all are eager to see it. However after the show, it was time to big business......Howard hosted its first annual African Business conference, i think it was sooo inspirational and very motivational as well. I got to meet Kola Kareem, CEO of Shoreline capital and also got to meet with ABSA(south african bank) executives. I was so impressed with the organizers of the show, i think they did a great job. Amongst the attendees where Nwaji Jibunor of Phillips consulting, Mrs Sola Salako, Wazobia Jobs, Zebra Jobs, just to mention a few. This conference made me believe that there is hope not just in Nigeria but Africa as whole, and we thank God for the likes of Mr Kareem who inspire the youths that they can do anything if they just have the passion and the belief.

Nigerian men and fashion....lol This show is soo interesting and it actually made me cry. Its been a while and i know you all have been craving some hott spicy write-ups.....was taking a look at my blog and i realized i hadnt written since Feb 14. anywaz i have definitely missed you guys dearly and i promise never to write this late again.

My last two weekends were alright..i mean, nothing "fantabulous" happened. I finally found a place to move-in after all the hustle...........moving in by March 1st ...its a nice Big house, sharing it with my twin of course,two white males and a female. My house mates seem COOL and i hope we can all live together in peace and harmony..lol.

For all my basketball lovers and for all those that missed the All-star games 2 weekends ago, here are my thoughts on how it went down...... i thought it was off the chain......I expected the West to win tho because i felt they had better players........did u'all get to see Dwight Howard's Super man Slam dunk...that was crRRAZZZyyyy to the core.....take a few minutes to look at it and feel free to comment!! I mean the guy weighs about 270pounds(muscles not fat ooh!) and see how high he went up......thats like crazy mehn. The all-star games were graced by many fans and celebrities as well. My beloved Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, Alyssa Milano and many other were present.

Speaking of Celebrities, the Academy Awards also took place lastweekend and all my A-list celebrities were looking fabulous. Most of the females came in magnificent red gowns which i felt was very appropriate for the occasion while many of them seized the opportunity to redeem themselves after last years fashion disaster. Some of them came with their dates for the first time on the red carpet(George Clooney and model girlfriend Sarah Jane Larson) while some with their mothers (Colin Farrell and Mom). Some where looking gorgeous and glowy with their baby bumps( Cate blanchett, Jessica Alba and Nicole Kidman) while some just came in alone (Cameron Diaz, Dwayne "the rock" Johnson).......its the OScars and so what do u expect........ I was reading funmi iyandas blog, i mean i totally respect her and everything but while i was reading her blog the words of my aunt tolu kept running through my mind.... "why the HECK are nigerians too verbose"...lol i dint understand it until i read funmi iyanda's blog...JEEEZZZZZ, i mean what the hell...lol every nigerian
novelist, writer as well as messages sent by all these yahooyahoo pple contain big grammar..ahnahn its not necessary!!! i mean I am not exagerrating, check out funmi iyanda's blog http://fiyanda.blogspot.com/ every sentence has at least one word that really does not need to be there. I mean there are atimes you can use "big grammar" to describe situations, thats allowed but most times its best to Keep It Simple (KIS). Enuff of that said anyways.

I was looking at a naija wedding website and i saw that the chief bridesmaid was looking better than the bride, i wish i could upload the picture...wedding tip, never ever let ur bridesmaid look better than you, you are the woman of the day. Its all about you, but that doesnt mean that ur bridesmaids shud look harggard too.

Another tip, never use ur wedding day as a testing ground, make sure ur hairstyle is sumthing you are used too and that it suits you. Also, for those who tan or want to do any quick minute surgery make sure u have it done like 6months or even a yr before your wedding day.

Also, My friends and I where in an argument about nigerians neeeding a tan, i said naijas need serious tanning to balance or even out our skin. I also suggested that we need alot of sunscreen lotion or sumthing cos of our sun. What do you think?

Onto the grammy's for those who missed it. It was held in California on the 10th of febuary and most of the performances were of the chains.....Kanye West killed his performance, he murdered the stage, i was so impressed, he almost made me cry. Another person who performed well was rihanna and "the time". Beyonce and tina turner...beyonce tryin to outdo tina turner...lol ill beef now...lol but the performance was hottt...am totally in love with Rihanna's new look, i mean shes a trend setter in hairstyles. And yeah, when rihanna was receviing her award...lol it was funny, the way she grabbed jayz to come to the stage with her was sexy, if i was beyonce mehn...lol and her speech was also funny cos jay z was the translator for like a couple of seconds.

Did not really like Nelly furtados new look,i mean what was up with the female celebrities this year?? i thought most of their styles were not grammy enough. I totally did not like beyonces look, I think she looked like she was meant to be on the skating rink...my twin thinks she looked startrekkish-jetson like...lol..ooh well...as for the guys, i think most of them looked very very sharp, the likes of sEAL, Jayz, snoop, daughtry, just to mention a few.

The beatles where honored, most of the members and their wives where present apart from Paul Macartney who was dealing with courtcase.

OK theres now a Howard University African Conference, the first ever at Howard University, kuudos to Ozioma Obiaka, he doesnt know this but i secretly look up to him, i think he is a very determined person and i would really like to work with him, kudos to the other guys, edwin, segun, collins, hassan just to mention a few. Well i know i have been off for a while and thats because i have been really thinking hard, been depressed, and just a whole bunch of stuff has been on mind, regardless, i went to the movies to watch Mad Money with my sexy stylish french gabonese friend, Sephora. I think it was ok, i mean amovie has to match up to the hype, i think the hype was too much...lol, it was fun, and exciting. Met my frenchie on the metro and shes totally cool,and although shes just learning english, we clicked moreover im so interested in learning french, so hey!!we benefit from each other.... heres our picture even tho i think it is disastrous.

On the other hand i was reading HOTICE's BLOG, one of my favorite blogs and i read about a dude disturbing her on the metro/train..thats funny cos i had a similar experience too. I was readin a french book on the train and then this french guy from em either Gabon or sumwhere sha approached me...initially i thot he was cool, we got chatting and we kinda clicked tho.....gave him my number and before i culd say yahooze he rang me up. The most annoying part after was that he called me like 15times that night...lol i was like wtf. and then when i finally picked up he asked if i wanted to hang out with him that night with his friend. I was like hell no, ok not like that tho but i was like em am kinda tired which was true, told him that tomrrow wud be fine.

The next day omg..it was terrible...lol like he called me like 40times...lol and then i finally got to pick up the fone, and then he asked me if i wanted to come over to his house...that was just a huge turn of for me, and the guy wasnt even that cute i mean...to me he seemed like a PERVERT, oh well i decided to tell him that we cud go to the movies...after i dropped the call, i instantly stored his name as "Mohammed, do not PICK up"...lol Gosh wat a lad..lol

Going on to fashion( which i am sure most of you know i truly adore)..... I was on this website style.com and saw the recent trends..... you know fashion designers get their inspiration from diffrerent places, for instance there was a period where everything was inspired by japanese fashion, then the african dry lace fabric...well todays trends are inspired from back in BC's from the bible....this styles are reffered to as Neon Bible. If you looks in every store, arden B, Gucci, and BCBG, you'll see most of the dresses especially the neck lining are inspired by the egyptians or the bible.

The next fashion trend is called Hippie revival...well am guessing they are trying to revive fashion from back in the early 80s

The Style tribe is another trend in fashion...I think the reason for its name is because most of the designs look like things from a tribe in africa or sum other country, thats my opinion tho...

The next trend is boy meets girl...i think nowadays girls are dressing up as guys especially in the work place to show sum sort of authority...basically looking sharp and also making a dress statement "women cannot be toyed with"

First of all what is this that am hearing that obasanjos son, Gbenga Obasanjo is accusing his wife of cheating.....lol thats funny, the funniest part is that i heard that she allegedly cheated on Gbenga with Baba himself and that was how she got sum contracts..WOW baba OBJ...lol my point is wateva a man can do, a woman can do three times better.

Can guys see how it feels to be cheated on, especially men in government nowadays, its is terrible. As everyone can notice, the world of fashion is not only revolving around women but also men.....If you've noticed men fashion is taking a different toll. This can be seen in the early 70s and 80s where bell-bottoms and tight fitted shirts where in vogue.

Now men are going through a phase of grungier, baggy look to clean cuts. Check out the slim/skinny ties, skinny jeans/tight fitted jeans, fitting tops, high-necked spread collars, shirts with full trims, embroidery, and covered buttons, slim pointed shoes, slimmer jackets/blazers...basically everything is made slimmer.

As we all know 50cent, kanye west, jayz, piddy, ryan seacrest are all trendsetters for either blazers, skinny ties, and fitted shirts.

Even our very own naija men are representing, the likes of dbanj, dare art alade, just to mention a few. And as i said in my earlier blog, jand naija peeps and naijas in naija know how to dress, we are influenced by british fashion, however the yankees are trying to follow the fashion trend and this is because they see the likes of kanye, Jayz, 50CENT and other hiphop moguls changing their fashion style to this modern clean cut look.

Also, I hear that the Okunoren twins from England are really good in making suits that are fit, trim, clean and cut. They might be showcasing their clothing line at Howard University's annual fashion show.

The Ibrus: Well, these brothers are a bit old but am sure they wud have been "baddos" when they where younger...however they are very successful: alex, felix, goodie, and micheal...what i do know is that everyone talks about how are gorgy their sons are.

Gotti Brothers: *sighs* Jeez this is one of the reasons why i want to marry an italian mafia. They are the hottest brothers on the planet and they are indeed very vain. People who know me, will know that i love REALITY Shows, from America's Most Smartest Model, to Bad Girls Club, Deal or No Deal, Real World, unfortunaetly "I love Newyork"..LOL and a whole bunch of others however one of my favorites is the Apprentice....Everyone loves the Apprentice, who doesnt??? The Apprentice to sum it all, is a show hosted by the "Real estate mogul" Donald Trump, and basically there are like 14interns who battle for final prize which is to work on a project with Mr Trump. However what makes this seasons apprentice interesting is that there are going to be a bunch of celebrities. Mr Trump initially wanted to have Ms Spears and my one and only Paris Hilton on it....The show would have been a hugeee hit if any of them where on it.

I came across the Apprentice Africa by Biodun Shobanjo...I was surprised that Nigerians are becoming "game" with reality shows, first it was Gulder Ultimate Search, the interns hosted by BankPHB, now Apprentice(also hosted by BankPHB and Storm Records), I soo want to be in the show. I also came across a show "Celebrity takes 2" which is similar to "dancing with the stars" in america. Funlola Aofiyebi-actress who was in the popular soap " Palace" won the show, and she was followed my highschool mate, beauty queen, "Omowunmi "Queen" Akinnifesi.

In addition to apprentice, theres Deal or No deal in Africa....like omg..LOL thats totally awesome dude.

Anyone interested in bringing reality shows to Nigeria and AFRICA, hey HITME UP cos am game. I found about Deal or No deal cos my my friends from my highschool are in it... BIG-UPS to QC, "we are queens you know"...lol big-ups to Oruwari Data Ebuyeba, Bawo Thorpe and Moradeke. I think the models in the show are pretty but i think there are prettier girls in Africa, maybe because im comparing the models in Deal or No deal US to Africa. I also think the make-up artist can do a better job and also the wardrobe needs improvement. I mean there are lovely ankara, or rather lovely african fabrics that can be used, most of the dresses worn on the girls dont fit properly.

Oluwa jo, wa gbe mi soke- God pls come lift me up this yr.(thats my new year resolution)

And so i went to church for the first time since January 1st of 2007. I know thats really bad and i think its showed cos 2007 wasnt "the" year for me. I hope and pray that this year will be a year of success for all of us, and also pray that we live and act as christians.

For me praise and worship ministers to me more, like i feel spiritually, mentally and emotionally filled, however the ministery yesterday was very powerful. It was done by Jim Cymbala of Brokyln Tabernacle. Like i felt he was preaching directly to me. God is here today, tomrrow and forever, we just need to call on his name. We have to act and live like christians, that i plan to do this new year.

Also remembering the souls that left us behind in 2007, my darling friends Seun Kusamotu, Ibukun Adeniyi, Sunny Obiajulu, to politicians, men and women at war, children in Africa dying to poverty and AIDS and other diseases; May ALL the souls of faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in perfect peace.

To all the newly weds, Enaruna Igiehon, Yetunde Sobamowo, Hauwa Abubarkar, Didi Wellington, and other names i failed to mention, may God bless you abundantly with Joy and happinness in your homes and with the fruit of the womb. I wish i could have been there.

Ok i know its been a while since i wrote on this blog...alot of things have been going on. From Benazir Bhutto's assasination, to thai bombings, to Mischa Barton gettin arrested for DUI, to my seexy Paris Hilton giving my dream boyfriend Brody from the "Hills" a lap dance...LOL everyone who knows me, will know that i totally love Paris.
I really dont know whats going on in Naija right now, but am trying hard to console myself that am not missing much since i couldnt make it this december.....hehehe...ok now down to business about current issues plus fashion...i love fashion!!!! and yeah tv shows that rocked this yr....

With the Bhutto assasination i thought that was ridiculous, it reminds me of the assassination of J.F Kenedy or even Murtala Mohammed....my question was why was she killed and what was their purpose, from what i could gather from the news, my sister, tosin and other individuals she was killed because she was expected to return to office and run in the upcoming elections in Pakistan. After returning triumphantly from exile,her coming back meant she would have interupted certain plans already made by the present government. Basically, she did she did not fit in with their plans to stay in power and some people believed that she was too western and liberal to be in government. This same governement scuppered her plans as Prime Minister before, refusing to permit her reforms on women's rights etc. Is being too liberal or too western any reason for killing an individual? May her soul rest in peace!

I will share with you some history before her death.

Benazir Bhutto was one of the most influencial women in the world and served as the Prime minsiter of Pakistan. Her father Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was a Pakistani politician who served as the President of Pakistan from 1971 to 1973 and as Prime Minister from 1973 to 1977. He was the founder of the Pakistan People's Party (PPP), one of the largest and most influential political parties of Pakistan. Benazir Bhutto graduated from Harvard Univeristy and also served twice as prime minister.

Oh well....can someone tell me whats up with all these celebrities and their infamous mug-shots, first of all it was my beloved Paris Hilton, then Lindsey Lohan(LL), Mel Gibson, Nicole Richie, now its Mischa Barton. I think there is a certain trend which celebs follow, first they think mug-shots are cool now pregnancies, from Jamie Lynn, to JLO, Jessica Alba, Nicole Kidman. just to mention a few.

Moving on to a more relaxed side -fashion, i think that Japanese fashion is "sick-ning", like totally hott. I went to a japanese food store and i saw their japanese fashion magazine...really hotttttttt, well apart from japanese style, i think the next hottest thing is Deola Sagoe, i think she is unique, plus her fashion style is very tasteful. I was looking at her website and i thought it was interesting and very couture, i really want to meet her, shes like my fashion african icon. How can i forget my one and only heatheretteeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!GOSH, i love heatherette. I can totally rock them, they have a little bit of couture,classiness plus japanes style.

As if the Britney "crisis" wasnt enough, her little 16yr old sister, "Zoey 101" star Jamie-lynn Spears got herself pregnant...WHATT!! When i heard i was in shock. I honestly thought she was watching and learning from her sister's mistakes...*sighs* wat is the world turning into..babies making babies....I really feel sad for her parents. She's suppose to be a role model to little kids. She was interviewed by OK magazine and was asked what message she wanted to send to other teens about premarital sex? her reply was that "I definitely don't think it's something you should do; it's better to wait...but I can't be judgmental because it's a position I put myself in".

I think she made a good response and I also think she made the right decision by having the baby rather than aborting. I just hope that everything goes well for her and I also pray for God's guidiance,protection and wisdom on her and her family.

My SOVIETTTT did not win...my baby Andre did not win, i was so rooting for SOVIETTTTT......why??????? He has made me love russia just bcos of the way he reps his country. i TOTALLY ADORE THIS GUY.

Initially Soviet was my least favorite because he made himself look like king-sized commie a-hole. He also had this ethonocentric behavior, however, he was just misunderstood by me and most of his contestants. Andre is one-hell-of a contestant. Very competitve i must say.

America's Most Smartest Model is an American Reality show by vh1. The show attempts to find brains behind beauty in a series of challenges, and will grant the winner $100,000, a feature in an upcoming V05 ad, and the title "America's Most Smartest Model".

However i feel very sad that VJ Logan was titled as America's Most Smartest Model with a V05 ad and $100,000. I do not think he deserved it, because he is soo CORKY and arrogant, gosh!!!!
My other favorite contestants where Rachel"Aussie", Brett, Pickel and of course Mandy lynn...totally loved them

Brett besides being a super stud, he's one of the more personable, and seemingly nice people on the show. He is soo goofy. Pickel is really intelligent, he helped "Soviet" during his final challenge, he is really nice, and approachable and yeah he has beautiful dark eyes. "Aussie" was my favorite female contestant, ever cheerful lady, beautiful at heart. She is usually called aussie because she is from australia, but her name is Racheal. She's someone to simply adore. My darling Mandy lynn is an example of a california super hottie(full blown plastic surgery), she tried her best to be smart but it wasnt just working, i guess she should just stick to modelling, smartestness isnt for everyone.

So!!!! i initially heard that my baby "YE" was coming to naija with tpain, the show was cancelled last minute, however, Brick and lace, lil kim performed...i heard that lil wayne was supposed to come but he missed his flight...lol thats funny. Well in general, i heard the show was ok. Brick and lace did that their thing, i love their song "love is wicked", Akon is really smart by placing them under his label....i think its madd sick, heard lil kim did her thing too. However, i heard Shank perfomance wasnt the "ish" dunno why he dint perform so well cos i mean i love his JULIE song....well i guess he should practice more on stage performance, heard D'banj, Sasha, Naeto C, and wierd MC did their thing too....i wish i were in naija for my Kanye's performance and tpain. Alot of organizations have been springing up, some for popularity purposes, some as "Egunje" as yoruba people will call it and a few because they are genuine; it comes from their hearts, they have a PASSION in wanting to give back to the society!!!!! No need to put your boxing gloves on..........we are just here to voice our opinions on the janded nigerians VS the yankerized nigerians.

ON STYLE: Janded people win this round. The way the Yankee people dress is immature. They wear oversize clothes and are not that concerned about fashion. The concerned ones are referred to as metrosexual and sometimes gay. If that was a true definition of gay, then every guy in jand would be gay. they take out time to look good, They are concerned with how they look and its impressive.

ON HAVING FUN: Yankee people win this round. Have you ever been to a jand party? Every one is popping moet and trying to look the best. Trying to strut their stuff and all. Ever been to a Yankee party??.....the difference is clear, the people are there to dance and have fun. After all, if they just wanted to listen to music and pop moet, they could do that at home.

ON SPORTS: Janded people win. Every janded person has their team and are dedicated for life. Yankee people could care less (not that they dont care, so dont bite my head off)........Hands down on sport dedication, Janded people win.

ON MUSIC: Yankee people win. yep, we have janded artist coming into the yankee industry but still the majority of music people listen to is the yankerized one. If you ask anyone (including the janded people) to name 5 artists they love the most, i bet you at least 4 of them will be yankee artists.

ON FINER GUYS: Janded people win this (feel free to bite my head off), but this is my opinion. They are fresher and all. Yankee boys are not bad though but u know we have to pick one side and majority of the fine naija guys are in JAND.

ON FINER GIRLS: Yankee girls win. (opinions are allowed). Janded babes use a whole lot of makeup, its ridiculous. Jand babes are pretty but Yankee has finer naija babes. No hating.

I am so new to this blog thingie and i am pretty much excited about it. Ok i exaggerated just a bit. I am not soo new to it, was introduced to this blog spot by my genius sister, tosin a while back like in 2004 but i just thot it was one of her nice ways of saying that there were better things on the internet rather than facebook or Hi5. So i just didnt bother to join. BUt now i just find it very interesting and I couldnt help but create my own blog page and even start writing which i find very relieving. I remember then when hi5 was the "in thing" now everyone is facebooking. Thats cool tho because you can find almost everyone on that damn site.Just got out from my exam which was ok although i thought that it would be great. Dont really like when the semster is coming to an end because the whole world just feels like it is crumbling. I really dont like school but at the same time i just like it so much here at(HU). I have this love-hate thing going on here with school. I really dont want to bore you all with school so i will just switch topics. Well I came up with this idea of starting up a fashion magazine like a while in 2004 and i started bloging with the username http://magnolia-mag.blogspot.com/ however i could not remember my password (i know kinda boring). The name has recently changed from Magnolia to Fausset which i think is more classy, catchy and frenchy. It actually brings out the fashion in the magazine. I hope everything works out great and ends up being a great success!!! especially with all this upcoming magazines and competition, i hope it really works out. One magazine i would really give kudos to is the Haute Magazine(http://www.fashionnigeria.com/)......... I actually think their magazine is very unique and brings this feel of youthfulness to everyone. However the Fausset team will bring out more so i am imploring everyone to watch out.!!!:)
